13 September 2005: Pioneer Europe today announces the availability of two
new internal DVD writer models. The DVR-110 ‘SuperMulti’ drive and the
DVR-110D ‘Dual’ format drive.

‘Pioneer invented the world’s most popular DVD format [DVD-R] and the drives
extend our reputation for innovation. They include original and improved
technologies that automatically ensure optimum recording quality. And they
provide consumers with the option of selecting a model with the utmost
compatibility for their requirements,’ observes Chris Tampsett, Senior
Manager, Pioneer Europe Multimedia Division.

He continues, ‘With the added confidence of Pioneer’s renowned reliability
and build quality, these versatile drives enable consumers to tailor their
DVD writer to their exact storage needs - whether its general back-up, file
archiving or managing the increasing volumes of data created by home movie,
digital imaging and audio/video* applications.’

Read / Write speeds:

The DVR-110 ‘SuperMulti’ drive writes at 16X speed on DVD-R and +R, 8X on
DVD-R DL and +R DL (Dual Layer/Double Layer), 6X on DVD-RW and 8X on +RW.
Its write speed for DVD-RAM is an industry-leading 5X. The DVR-110D ‘Dual’
format drive provides identical write performance to the DVR-110
‘SuperMulti’ drive, but excludes the support for DVD-RAM writing, thus
offering consumers a choice of DVD writers which is best-suited to their
exact storage needs.

Five models are available:

  • DVR-110: ‘SuperMulti’ drive (with RAM-write), beige front bezel
  • DVR-110BK: ‘SuperMulti’ drive (with RAM-write), black front bezel
  • DVR-110D: ‘Dual’ format drive (without RAM-write), beige front bezel
  • DVR-110DBK: ‘Dual’ format drive (without RAM-write), black front bezel
