Sofware updates: DVDFab and DivxToDVD

Couple of software updates have landed to our favorite DVD/video tools. The DivxToDVD from VSO promises improved speed, while DVD Fab has a couple of bugs fixed.

In case you are not familiar with DVDFab, it is possibly the most powerful DVD-to-DVD-R backup suite. It can bypass all the latest protections, including Sony ARccOS. DVDFab copy movies on three ways: Produce 1:1 one copies with no quality loss (sufficient blank disc capacity required, Dual Layer for many movies), or it can make 1:1 copies with no quality loss by splitting large movies to two single layer DVD recordable discs. Also there is an option transcode the movie to fit a single DVD recordable, but that will naturally always mean some loss of quality (depending on movie length and source material).

DVDFab Platinum/Gold/Express Version 2.9.5.5

  • Change: Updated VSO burning engine.
  • Fix: BSOD with a lot of external drives connected/disconnected.
  • Change: Better cooperation with packet-writing software.

VSO DivxToDVD on the other hand is everyone’s favorite who downloads movies and videos from the Internet. It can convert practically any (Divx, Xvid, .AVI, Windows Media, etc.) video files into fully compliant DVDs. An excellent way to transfer your movies from you PC to the living room if you are unable to use a TV out cable. DivxToDVD performs a high speed, yet high quality conversion of the movie and then records it to a DVD-R(w).
