Ritek accounted for 20.0% of the total global shipment volume for DVD+R/-R discs, 21.5% for DVD+RW/-RW/-RAM (rewritable) discs and 18.7% for CD-RW discs for the third quarter of this year, the largest market share of each sector, according to Japan-based market research firm Fujiwara-Rothchild.



India-based Moser Baer India (MBI), though, topped all Taiwanese makers in CD-R disc shipments for last quarter, mainly because leading Taiwanese makers have been shifting production focus from CD-R discs to DVD discs, according to industry sources.

Taiwanese makers posted an aggregate global market share of 67.8% for DVD+R/-R discs, 59.8% for DVD+RW/-RW/-RAM discs, 62.2% for CD-RW discs, and 53.0% for CD-R discs, noted Fujiwara-Rothchild.
