Ricoh Developing Dual Layer HD DVD-RW
Ricoh has developed a new technology for manufacturing DL HD DVD-RW media. The technology is expected to be proposed to the DVD Forum for approval within next year.
According to Ricoh’s announcement technology describes the procedure of manufacturing a DL HD DVD-RW disc, by sticking together two separate HD DVD-RW layers. The company used the “Inverted stack method”. This technology would allow for production of the halves in parallel, to be joined together at the end of the manufacturing process.
