Nero has made strangest software bundle, as their Nero 6 Reloaded packages now contain an optional Yahoo! Toolbar. While Yahoo toolbar has some useful features, it really is nothing more than a branding tool of Yahoo! used to constantly remind the user of Yahoo!’s services. Google and other Internet giants have similar toolbar offers as well.

Nero has not provided information whether these versions contain other updates in addition to Yahoo! advertising.

Nero’s website seems to give slightly mixed information, as it talks about Nero 7, while the Yahoo! Toolbar is clearly offered with the Nero 6 downloads as well.

Nero 7 Ultra Edition users now have the option of integrating Yahoo! Toolbar with the Update download. The Yahoo! Toolbar is a value add-on for Nero users, and installation is not required for the operation of any Nero application.

I find this to be a strange move from Nero, and a bit of a questionable one. Do they really have to bundle everything to their software suite? You can check out the Y! enabled versions at Nero 6 website.
