DVD recorder makers running out of components
As the DVD recordable market is blossoming, the manufacturers are having a hard time to keep the supply up to the demand. DigiTimes reports that Taiwan’s producers of high speed (16x) DVD recorders with 6x or 8x Dual Layer ability are having short supply of pick-up heads (PUHs).
The continuing reduction of prices and still increasing global demand are proving to be a challenge for the manufacturers. However, according to the source this currently onyl concerns the highest recording speed technology.
The shortage has delayed deliveries of 6x and 8x DL PUHs by about one month, these makers noted. However, supply of 4x DL PUHs remains stable, the makers added.
