1Click DivxToDVD reviewed
The CDR-Zone have reviewed yet another AVI to DVD conversion tool, 1Click ivxToDVD. Based on their review, it does live up to it’s name by offering simplicity of use, while lacking more advanced features. It is interesting to see how long Divx Networks allows them to use the trade marked “Divx” name on the software. Obviously the name tries to copycat the more famous VSO DivxToDVD, which was recently updated and renamed to ConvertXtoDVD.
At first glance the software does its name proud, 1 Click. This means that novices will find this program very easy to use, simply because there aren’t that much controls to setup. The flip side of that is that advanced user or control freaks, like me, can’t delve into the settings to fine tune the setup. So you can see this is both a pro and a con.As usual the support is really good at LG Software Innovations. They feature quick and professional responses through email and have support through a dedicated forum. Should you encounter any problems, you can rest assure that the problem can be dealt with rapidly.
One thing that slightly annoys me is the use of Sonic’s burning engine/layer. Sonic installs these filters, which have the potential to give users problems with accessing their CD/DVD drives. It’s installed by Winamp at default, but that is an older version. This means that users using an older version of this filter can run into trouble. Luckily this version updates the filter to a more recent version, eliminating potential problems.
